Lussac-Saint-Emilion - Chateau Vieux Fournay - Merlot made without added sulfites
Bordeaux
A family estate in Lussac-Saint-Émilion, on Bordeaux's right bank, owned by the Vergnaud family for more than 150 years and five generations — today farmed by Thierry Vergnaud and his wife alongside their daughter. Around 13 hectares of Lussac vines (with a few more in Bordeaux) grow on clay-limestone soils streaked with iron-rich 'crasse de fer', planted to Merlot with the two Cabernets: supple, characterful, Merlot-led claret from one of the right bank's most rewarding satellite appellations.
