About Chateau Vieux Fournay:
Thierry & Frederique Vergnaud took over from his family in 1992.
Located just north from the village of Lussac, the family has owned the property for over 150 years, spread over 5 generations.
The vineyards spread over 13 hectares in the Lussac Saint-Emilion appellation and 5 hectares in the Bordeaux appellation. The soil is clay-limestone with subsoils in certain areas having « crasse de fer » (=crasse of iron) which is oxydised iron residue found in certain soils that give unique attributes to wine.
