Open to all, this will be our 4th annual French wine pairing and this year it’s at Bottega Restaurant in Yountville! 5.30pm Champagne for 6pm start.

A tasting of five French wines, including Champagne, will be paired with small bites created by Chef Michael Chiarello.

On one side, the Generations blend from Charles Krug. The oldest, most historic winery in Napa Valley. On the other, Chateau St Martial, St Emilion Grand Cru from Bordeaux's right bank. The family has owned the historic property since 1782, just before the French revolution.

Peter Mondavi, Jr (C. Mondavi & Family Co-proprietor) and Frederick Boelen (La Cave wines owner) discussed the differences in style & terroir, challenges in wine country and the future of family owned wineries.

CEO & President of C. Mondavi & Family Judd Wallenbrock moderated the comparative tasting.

La Chandeleur, it is!

Third year running, L’Apero organized the traditional Chandeleur at Chantal Guillon’s Parisian macarons shop in San Francisco. Brittany crepes provided the best galettes & crêpes of the bay paired with our authentic French cider, Cuvée St George from Domaine d’Apreval in AOC Pays d’auge!

Over 120 attendees, traditional French marinière shirt optional - lookout for next year’s event if you couldn’t make it this time around!

PS: We raffled off an Educational in home wine pairing for it’s release, who knows what next year’s will be!


Ced’s Rum liqueur tasting in San Francisco

Based in Nantes (France) Ced sources AOC Rum Agricole from Martinique, adds fresh fruits cut no more than 48 hours before being bottled and macerates it for a minimum of two months before release. At just 32% , this delicate elixir is a great aperitif on it’s own or the perfect base to some of the best cocktails know to man.

We tasted the three Rum liqueur expressions for the very first time available in the U.S.!
