Syrah, Rhone Valley

Domaine Melody Marc & Marlene have been long time friends of ours and we are delighted to share their work with you! At the very heart of Rhône valley sits the famous appelation of Crozes-Hermitage where Syrah shines. North of Crozes-Hermitage benefits from more freshness that its south couterpart, partly due to granite soils retainting more water and helping with temperature. The further south you go the drier it gets, soils are airier and the land, flatter, is frequently swept with the Mistral. Founded in 2010, Marc Romak, Marlène Durand and Denis Lariviere united forces to create the Domaine Mélody and their 50 Acres of Crozes-Hermitage, Saint Joseph, Saint Peray. Eager to demounstrate and reveal the influences of their terroirs and parcels they don't hesitate to alternate their vinification methods, using steel, cement and the traditional wood barrels to make their Varietals shine. Syrah, an hommage to Marlène's grandfather harbors a fruit forward approach. Finished in steel tanks the notes of cherry, blackeberries and blackcurrent are sublimed by a savourfoul spicy finish making it the perfect match for one of those night when you just don't know what to open.
