Domaine Alexandre
Chablis is probably one of the places where chardonnay shines the brightest. The world renouned white grape variety grows on rolling hillsides North of Burgundy, between Beaune and Paris. Kimmeridgnean soils, made up of small oysters fossils left there some 150 million years ago contribute to the so sought after finesse and minerality of Chablis wines.
Claire and Olivier Alexandre are at the head of a family owned Vineyard operating since 3 generations already. Spread on 32 Acres between the cities of Beines, La Chapelle Vaupelteigne, Lignorelles et Villy. The utmost care for the vine, controlled yieds and a rather innovative splicing technique: the use of a ceramic ball to catch any suspending particles only in enamelled steel tanks to preserve the richness and true expression of this Chablis.
One the nose, crisp apples, pear and citrus. The palate is crisp and reminds of the nose while maintaining the distinctive richness of Chablis wines. Perfect with a seafood platter, clam capellinis or even a mushroom risotto.
