Domaine Alexandre
Chablis is probably one of the places where chardonnay shines the brightest. The world renouned white grape variety grows on rolling hillsides North of Burgundy, between Beaune and Paris. Kimmeridgnean soils, made up of small oysters fossils left there some 150 million years ago contribute to the so sought after finesse and minerality of Chablis wines.
Claire and Olivier Alexandre are at the head of a family owned Vineyard operating since 3 generations already. Spread on 32 Acres between the cities of Beines, La Chapelle Vaupelteigne, Lignorelles et Villy. The “climate” Fouchaume, classed as a first growth, benefit from a West / South-West exposition; a solar terroir where Chardonnay rippens early on loamy soils leading to concentrated and noticeable expressive wines.
Aromas of flint completed with crisp fruits such as apples. Mouth of citrus, dried fruits and undergrowth are sublimed by a rich and lengthy mouthfeel worthy of a 1er Cru.
Pair with poached fishes, baked oysters and sushis for garanteed pleasure.
